To maintain a productive and harmonious living environment, LangStay reserves the right to remove residents from the project under the following circumstances:
Fraudulent Application Information
Providing false information during the application process is strictly prohibited.
This includes using a false identity (“catfishing”), mismatched identification information, or submitting forged documents or materials.
Volunteers found to have misrepresented themselves may face immediate eviction.
Illegal Activities
Engaging in any illegal activities or violating Korean laws is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate eviction.
This includes, but is not limited to, theft, vandalism, unauthorized substance use, and any actions that could bring legal consequences to the individual or the share house.
Intentional Harm to the Project or Others
Deliberate actions that harm the project or other volunteers are unacceptable and may lead to eviction.
This includes sabotaging project efforts, spreading false information, or intentionally disrupting operations.
Discrimination and Harassment
Engaging in any form of discrimination, harassment, or hate speech based on race, gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic is strictly forbidden and may result in immediate eviction.
Verbal abuse, including hate speech or derogatory remarks, will not be tolerated.
Manipulation and Inappropriate Influence
Attempting to manipulate or coerce other residents into adopting personal beliefs or ideas that are widely unacceptable or that most participants find disagreeable is prohibited.
Introducing controversial topics with the intent to unsettle or divide the community is unacceptable.
Sabotaging Personal Well-being
Planning personal activities that negatively impact your ability to participate effectively in the program is discouraged.
For example, undertaking strenuous activities (such as long-distance walking trips or mountain hiking) that leave you too exhausted to focus on program responsibilities may lead to warnings and potential eviction.
Ensure personal schedules do not interfere with your commitment and contributions to the program.
Frequent Disruptive Behavior
Residents who repeatedly cause disruptions that hinder the smooth operation of the program may be subject to eviction.
Chronic Unpunctuality
Consistent lateness affects everyone by causing delays and inconvenience. Residents who are habitually unpunctual may be asked to leave.
Passive-Aggressive Actions
Engaging in passive-aggressive behavior undermines community harmony and may lead to eviction.
This includes indirect resistance to rules or avoidance of direct communication to express discontent.
Intentional Disturbance
Frequently initiating conversations or activities that distract or disturb others outside of scheduled meetings is not acceptable.
Non-Compliance with House Rules
Repeated failure to adhere to the house rules outlined in this document.
Negative Collaboration
Forming groups to violate rules or disrupt the communal environment is prohibited.
Encouraging others to participate in rule-breaking activities is unacceptable.
Lack of Contribution and Effort
We value not only skills but also the effort and commitment residents bring to the project. Those who do not actively contribute or show a lack of effort may face eviction.
Negative Attitude Towards the Project
Residents who do not feel positively about the project and frequently cause disturbances may be asked to leave.
Undermining the Project
Attempting to form alliances outside of the project's scope to disrupt or undermine its objectives is unacceptable and may result in eviction.
Disrespectful Behavior
Showing disrespect towards fellow residents or staff, including verbal abuse or inappropriate conduct.
Willful Ignorance of Korean Cultural Norms
Deliberately ignoring or neglecting Korean cultural norms without making an effort to understand or respect them is unacceptable.
Using ignorance as an excuse for disrespectful behavior towards the culture is prohibited and may result in eviction.
Residents exhibiting any of the above behaviors will receive a formal warning.
Continued non-compliance or serious violations may result in immediate eviction from the project to ensure the well-being and productivity of the community.
