Volunteer Application

Welcome to the Lang.Stay Project! We're thrilled that you're interested in joining our diverse community. Before applying, we encourage you to review our project goals, guidelines, and policies to fully understand what we're about and how you can contribute. Below is an introduction to our two volunteer options: Regular Volunteer and Provisional Volunteer.

Which Pathway is Right for You?

I. Regular Volunteer Pathway

For those who prefer a more structured process, the Regular Volunteer pathway is ideal. This option involves a thorough review of your application, and you will be accepted directly as a Regular Volunteer without the need for a trial period. The process typically takes 7–10 days from application to start.

Process Overview:

  1. Application Submission:
Complete a detailed application form including your motivation, experience, and intended length of stay.
  2. Review & Shortlisting:
We will review and shortlist applications within 3–5 days.
  3. Video Call (if needed):
If necessary, we’ll schedule a video call within 1–3 days to discuss your application further.
  4. Final Decision: A final decision will be made within 1–2 days after the review or video call.
  5. Welcome & Onboarding:
Once accepted, you will receive a welcome package and be ready to start within 7–10 days of submitting your application.
  6. Extensions:
You can extend your stay in two-week increments, depending on mutual agreement.

Who Should Apply?

Volunteers who are ready to commit from the beginning without the need for a trial period. Those who are comfortable with a slightly longer application process and who want to ensure a full assessment before starting.

II. Provisional Volunteer Pathway

If you are eager to start volunteering quickly and are planning to stay in Korea for at least 6 weeks, the Provisional Volunteer pathway is designed for you. This option allows you to jump into the project with minimal delay and includes a 14-day trial period to assess fit. After this trial, you may be upgraded to Regular Volunteer status.

Process Overview:

  1. Application Submission:
Complete a Google form with basic information.
  2. Immediate Review:
Your application will be reviewed within 1–2 days.
  3. Quick Start:
Once accepted, you can begin volunteering within 1–3 days of approval.
  4. 14-Day Trial Period:
Engage in project activities and life in the shared house during the first 14 days.
  5. Pre-Decision:
By Day 11, you'll be notified if you will be upgraded to Regular Volunteer status.
  6. Upgrade to Regular Volunteer:
If approved, you will officially become a Regular Volunteer after 14 days.
  7. Extensions:
After becoming a Regular Volunteer, you can extend your stay every two weeks based on mutual agreement.
